The four inches (4") of treated expanded polystyrene foam prevents heat and cold from passing through.  This protection keeps heat out in the summer, which results in less electricity required for air conditioning for a comfortable atmosphere inside; and it keeps heat in during the winter, resulting in lower heating costs.  Obviously, the insulative quality of the center core saves money, during construction and for the life of the home or building.  Heating and air conditioning bills have been considerably lower in homes constructed with this type of Panel System.

When the expanded polystyrene foam insulation is coated with plaster, the thermal mass provided by the one inch (1") thick interior skin continues working every day and every night for the life of the home, keeping the structure more comfortable in winter and summer.  This will lower the cost of heating and air conditioning for the life of the home or building.

Good insulation has proven to be one of the best investments one can make.  In the United States, certain areas receive special tax reductions for installing insulation in existing homes and structures.
